Fernanda Del Lama Soares

Fernanda's research looks at inter-institutional relations and international cooperation for risk governance in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Fernanda has a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences from the Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Minas Gerais (Brazil), and a double master degree on Environmental Resources Management, with focus in urban governance, from the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosi (Mexico) and the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (Germany).

Before joining the Centre of Urban Research, she worked for the United Nations and the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in international development cooperation programs and municipal partnerships networks in the fields of climate change and disaster risk reduction.

Her research interests are:

–          Disaster risk reduction

–          Multi-level governance

–          Policy integration

–          Public policy in Pacific Island States

–          International cooperation
